Faces—and the people behind them—fascinate me.

Each portrait is an exciting journey. When I sketch a child or adult at a party or fair, it’s a short and delightful journey. I love to quickly capture a face and meet a new person. For a commissioned portrait, it’s a longer and more intense journey. But the goal is the same: to accurately represent the individual, family or pet, with all possible personality and warmth.

My background is in both art and psychology. I got my Bachelors of Fine Arts at Queens College in NY, studying painting, photography and printing. Later, in Philadelphia, I studied painting and portraiture at Moore College in Philadelphia. I took Masters Degrees in both Psychology (University of Pennsylvania) and Education (Marywood College).

After working as an art therapist for many years, I have returned to my first love, portraits. In Philadelphia, I work on private commissions in my studio and do portrait sketches at children’s parties, fairs and corporate events. My paintings and photographs hang in private collections in different states across the country. And I’m currently writing a book! It’s
called Autumn Romance: Great Love Stories over 50.
