Trained at Queens College in Fine Arts (B.F.A.), I took Masters Degrees in both Psychology (University of Pennsylvania) and Education (Marywood College). After working as an art therapist for many years, in private schools and clinics, I have returned to my first love, portraiture. In Philadelphia, I work on private commissions in my studio and do portrait sketches at children’s parties, fairs and corporate events. I also write part time for the local newspaper.

I’ve been painting portraits for 22 years; my commissioned portraits, other paintings, and photographs hang in private collections in different states across the country.

Faces—and the people behind them—fascinate me.
“When I paint or draw a face, I begin to love it. In every face, there is a story– there is hope, there are dreams.

Each portrait is an exciting journey for me. The client and I begin together, when they tell me about the person. Then I start on the artistic part of the journey, but I check in periodically: Was his smile this broad? Do her eyes twinkle like this?

Amazingly, this very personal journey can be taken altogether by email! Technology makes it even more personal—I take pictures of the portrait in its different stages, email them, and the client and I can talk. It’s fun!
