Each phase of our children's lives is precious. A portrait captures the child's essence at that moment in time. One choice is to gather your children's photos and have me create one portrait they don't have to be posing together, but it will look as if they are.
Jessica's sparkly prettiness at 5 years old is evident in this school photo. What I did is use pale shades of colored pencil, for her delicate coloring. I used my pencil to make subtle suggestions of shape in her dress (instead of complete details), this way conveying a very young freshness.
“This portrait highlights her constantly curious blue eyes and her caring spirit. I will treasure this forever.” Diane McCafferty
Their grandmother commissioned me to create a portrait of the three Bateson boys for their mother's birthday. I did it from many photos, which helped me to understand their very different personalities: Mattey, the oldest, handsome and devilish; Peanut, artistic; and Amir, full of mischief and charm.
This portrait has a place of honor above the fireplace in our home and will in every home we have. It is so beautiful. Sandra Bateson
