or email, cdenker@att.net. We discuss their vision. I send (by email or regular mail) a preliminary sketch. After establishing a final image for the portrait and price client sends a one-third deposit and the photograph(s) for me to work from. I check in often, sending images to client, by email, of the work-in-progress.
When work is completed, client gives final approval, and sends remaining two-thirds. I deliver the portrait, or send it (FedEx does good job).
Prices vary, and are ultimately decided upon in the dialogue between myself and the client. Most range between $200-$800. If I am excited about a clients vision, I want to proceed, and not only for wealthy individuals.
I assess how much work is involved, how expensive the art materials will be, and together we establish a mutually agreeable and fair price. The biggest factor for me is the time involved. Within a first conversation, I state an estimate. I have a wonderful, reasonable framer here in Philadelphia so framing is an option the client may choose.
Prices Range, from $150 to $500Children’s birthday parties in the lower range; corporate weekends at the
higher end. A deposit of one-third is required for me to save the date.
Subjects sit for anywhere from five to 25 minutes. I can capture a subject in a few minutes; longer
sketches are enhanced with more detail and color. The price may include a “party presentation” with mat, ribbon, labels and other finery.
